Information

Hydraulic Clutch/Brake Piston & Cylinder Assembly โš™๏ธ

This hydraulic piston-and-cylinder unit is a core part of the vehicleโ€™s fluid pressure system. Itโ€™s needed to convert your pedal force into smooth, controlled hydraulic pressure, helping the clutch or brake mechanism engage and release correctly. When everything is sealed and moving freely, the piston slides inside the bore, pushing fluid through the line to the slave cylinder or wheel circuit for reliable response.

How It Works ?

Press the pedal and the piston travels forward, building pressure. Release the pedal and internal spring force plus fluid return bring it back, keeping the system ready for the next stroke. Tight tolerances and clean seals prevent pressure loss and keep pedal feel consistent.

If This Part Fails โ—

Common symptoms include a soft or sinking pedal, delayed engagement, gear crunching, pulling, fluid leaks, or hard shifting. A worn bore or torn seal lets fluid bypass the piston, causing pressure drop and possible loss of control. Continued driving can damage related hydraulic components and overheat friction parts.
