Information

Front Hub Grease Seal ??️

This front hub grease seal is a small but critical barrier that keeps wheel bearing grease where it belongs and blocks water, dust, and road grit from entering the hub. It is needed whenever you service front wheel bearings, replace a hub, or notice grease leakage around the wheel area.

How It Works βš™οΈ

The seal presses into the hub and rides against the rotating spindle or axle surface. Its flexible sealing lip maintains contact while the wheel turns, holding proper lubrication inside the bearing cavity. This helps the bearing run cool, smooth, and quiet, even under heavy load and high-speed driving.

What Happens If It Fails ❗

If the seal is damaged, hardened, or installed crooked, grease can leak out and contaminants can get in. That leads to bearing noise, overheating, uneven wheel rotation, and in worst cases bearing seizure or hub damage. Ignoring a bad seal can turn a simple service job into a costly front-end repair.

When to Replace ?

  • Grease on the inside of the wheel or around the hub
  • Grinding/humming noise that changes with speed
  • After bearing cleaning and repack
