This transmission oil strainer sits in the valve body area and works like a fine safety filter for your ATF. Its job is to catch clutch dust, metal shimmer, and gasket debris before they reach the delicate valves and solenoids. Every automatic transmission creates small particles as it wears. The strainer prevents these contaminants from circulating, protecting the valve body channels from blockage and reducing premature pump and solenoid wear.
