Why you need it β
In a manual gearbox, the gear and shaft must spin at almost the same speed before engagement. The synchro ring creates controlled friction to match those speeds, so the shift sleeve can lock the gear without grinding. A fresh ring means cleaner shifts, less noise, and longer life for gears and hubs.
How it works
The conical face of the ring presses against the gear cone, equalizing RPM via friction. Once speeds match, the dog teeth align and the shift collar slides in. Precision cut teeth, oil grooves, and set clearances ensure fast, repeatable synchronization under load.
