Clutch Release Lever/Fork Assembly for Nissan Manual Gearbox βš™οΈ

This precision steel clutch release leverβ€”often called a clutch forkβ€”transfers pedal force from the hydraulic slave cylinder to the release bearing. It ensures smooth disengagement, light pedal feel, and repeatable bite point. Correct geometry and heat‑treated contact pads reduce chatter, hot spots, and bearing wear. Built to OEM standards for proper throw and alignment inside the bellhousing.

Why you need it βœ…

A tired or bent lever steals travel, making gear engagement noisy and inconsistent. Replacing it restores crisp shifts, protects the pressure plate and disc, and keeps the transmission synchronizers happy. Ideal during clutch service to prevent repeat labor.

How it works

Press the pedal ➜ hydraulic pressure moves the slave cylinder ➜ the cylinder pushes the lever on its pivot ➜ the lever drives the release bearing into the diaphragm spring, separating engine from gearbox. Release the pedal and spring tension returns the lever, re-engaging drive.

When it fails ❗

Signs include hard pedal, gear grind into 1st/Reverse, squeak at bellhousing, uneven release, or clutch slip after warm-up. If the lever or retaining clip cracks, disengagement can be lost, risking gearbox damage and roadside breakdown.

Tech notes

Inspect pivot ball, release bearing, and clip; replace if worn. Lightly grease contact points with high‑temp moly. After install, bleed hydraulics and verify free play and full fork travel.
