A strong pressure cover keeps grip under load, stops slip on hills, and gives consistent pedal feel. It prevents premature disc wear and helps the release bearing work within design limits.
How it works ⚙️
Bolted to the flywheel, the unit uses a diaphragm spring to clamp the disc when your foot is off the pedal. Press the pedal and the release bearing deflects the spring fingers, freeing the disc so gears can change. Balanced construction and cooling windows control heat and noise.
What happens if it fails ❗
Symptoms: clutch slip, burnt smell, judder, noisy or hard shifting, high bite point. Driving on can overheat the flywheel, warp the cover, destroy the disc and bearing, and finally leave you with no drive.
Fitment tips
Resurface or clean the flywheel, align the disc, torque bolts in a star pattern, keep friction faces oil‑free, and bed in gently for 300–500 km.
