Information

Ignition Coil Protector Shield for Nissan Engines

This small but vital shield guards the coil pack and boot from heat, splash, and dust. By keeping moisture and engine bay grime away, it helps the spark stay strong and stable. It also keeps the coil seated, reduces vibration, and prevents arc-over to the head or wiring. Result: cleaner combustion, smoother idle, and longer coil life.

Why your engine needs it

Coils run hot and face oil mist and water spray. The protector acts like a thermal and dielectric barrier, guiding airflow and sealing the top of the plug well. It protects plastic housings, rubbers, and terminals from early wear.

How it works

Made from heat-resistant polymer, it clips over the coil area, creating a snug cover around the plug tube. It blocks moisture, stabilizes the coil position, and insulates high voltage so the spark goes to the plugβ€”not to ground.

If it’s cracked or missing

Expect misfires (rough idle, hesitation), hard starts, higher fuel use, and a Check Engine light (P030x). Water after rain/wash can stall the engine. Prolonged misfire can overheat the catalytic converter and damage the coil connector.

Tech tip βœ…

Inspect during plug or coil service. Replace brittle parts in pairs. Lightly clean the plug well and ensure the coil boot is dry before fitting.
