Upper Radiator Coolant Hose

How it works

Coolant exits the engine through this upper line, travels to the radiator inlet, then returns cooled through the lower circuit. The hose’s reinforced rubber walls prevent ballooning, while the inner lining resists softening and cracking over time.

What happens if it fails

If the hose splits, collapses, or seeps at the clamp area, coolant loss or restricted flow can cause overheating quickly. Warning signs include sweet smell, low coolant level, swollen hose, or crusty residue near the ends. Continued driving may lead to warped cylinder heads or blown head gasket. ⚠️
