Engine Coolant Thermostat Assembly
This thermostat assembly is a key part of the cooling system that helps your Nissan engine reach the right working temperature fast and then keep it stable οΈ. You need it to prevent slow warm-up, overheating, and poor heater performance. A healthy thermostat also supports good fuel economy and lowers engine wear.
How It Works
Inside the housing is a temperature-sensitive valve. When the coolant is cold, the valve stays closed, forcing coolant to circulate mainly within the engine so it warms up quickly. As temperature rises, the valve opens step-by-step, letting coolant flow to the radiator to shed heat. This balanced flow keeps the temperature gauge steady and protects head gasket, hoses, and radiator.
What Happens If It Fails
