This coupling is a key part of the engine cooling system. It connects the radiator fan to the drive source and helps the fan spin at the right speed for the engine temperature. How it works βοΈ
The internal clutch action reacts to heat around the radiator area. As temperature increases, the coupling engages more firmly, spinning the fan faster. As temperature drops, it eases off, letting the fan freewheel slightly.
