Why you need it

How it works
The ignition coil sends high voltage to the center electrode. That energy jumps the calibrated gap to the ground strap, lighting the air–fuel mix at the right moment. A ceramic insulator focuses the spark and blocks leakage; the metal shell grounds to the head for heat transfer; an internal resistor cuts radio noise. Correct gap and proper torque keep the chamber sealed and the plug at the right temperature.
When it’s worn or damaged ️
Expect hard starts, rough idle, hesitation under load, higher fuel use, and a Check Engine light for misfire. Prolonged driving can overheat the catalytic converter, stress coils, and cause cylinder wash. Replace all plugs together, use the service manual torque, install on a cool engine, and stick to the specified gap for reliable performance .
