How It Works

The duct forms a sealed channel so air flows in the right direction with minimal turbulence. By keeping the route tight and correctly shaped, it prevents hot under‑hood air from being pulled in and helps the intake system maintain proper pressure and airflow signals for the ECU.

What Happens If It’s Damaged

When cracked, loose, or collapsed, it can create an air leak after the air filter. That may cause rough idle, hesitation, whistling noises, reduced power, higher fuel use, and sometimes a check engine light. Dirt ingestion can also increase wear on the throttle body and sensors.
