Why this part is needed
The oil pump is the heart of the lubrication system. It feeds pressurized oil to crankshaft bearings, camshafts, timing chains, and pistons. How it works
A rotor/gear set, driven by the crankshaft, draws oil through the pickup screen and pushes it into the main galleries. What happens if it fails
