High‑Temp Exhaust Manifold Gasket

Why this part is needed

This gasket seals the joint between the cylinder head and the exhaust manifold. It locks in hot combustion gases, keeps oxygen from entering the stream, and protects nearby components. A correct seal maintains backpressure, reduces noise, and helps the O2 sensors read accurately for smooth fuel control and power.

How it works

Built from layered steel and heat‑resistant coating, it compresses evenly when the manifold is torqued to spec. The fire rings around each port contain extreme heat and pressure, while the coating fills micro‑gaps on both surfaces. Result: stable exhaust flow, proper turbo/spool response (if equipped),and cleaner emissions .

What happens if it fails

Leak at cold start “ticking,” sulfur smell, soot marks at the flange, loss of torque, poor fuel economy, and check‑engine lights from false O2 readings. Long term, hot leaks can warp the manifold, erode the head surface, and damage studs—turning a simple seal job into costly repairs.

Tech notes

Always clean mating faces, replace hardware if corroded, and torque in sequence on a cold engine. Recheck after a heat cycle .
