This precision tappet (bucket lifter) keeps valve clearance correct, giving quiet operation, stable idle, and clean emissions. Over time heat cycles, wear, and seat settling change the gap between cam lobe and valve stem. Renewing this unit restores smooth power delivery and protects the valvetrain.

Why it’s needed ✅

Correct lash lets the cam open and close valves at the right moment. Too tight and valves overheat and leak compression; too loose and you get noise, delayed lift, and reduced performance. This part locks in the clearance to factory spec.

How it works

Mounted between cam lobe and valve stem, its precision-ground height sets the gap. Engine oil films the contact surfaces while the hardened steel body resists scuffing and pitting. Selected sizes (where applicable) allow fine tuning during service.
