Engine Exhaust Valve (OEM-grade)
Why this part is needed
The exhaust valve is a key sealing part inside the cylinder head. It closes the exhaust port after burned gases leave the combustion chamber. A tight seal keeps compression strong, protects power output, and helps the engine run clean and smooth.
How it works
Driven by the camshaft through lifters/buckets, the valve opens at the correct timing to release hot exhaust gases, then snaps shut against its valve seat. The valve spring controls closing speed, while the stem guides it straight in the guide to prevent wobble. Proper seating transfers heat into the head, preventing overheating of the valve face.
What happens if itβs worn or broken
If the valve is bent, burned, pitted, or sticking, you may get misfires, rough idle, low compression, weak acceleration, backfiring, and higher fuel use . Severe failure can damage the seat, guide, piston, or turbo/catalyst, turning a small head repair into a major rebuild.
