    How it works

    What happens if it fails

    Worn or chipped teeth, wobble, or play can cause chain rattle at start-up, rough idle, loss of power, misfire, poor economy, and a check-engine light (cam/crank correlation faults). Severe wear may let the chain jump a tooth, risking valve timing drift and possible internal engine damage on some engines. Replace together with chain, guides, and tensioner for best results .
