Crankshaft Timing Pulley for Toyota Engines ⚙️
Why you need it
The toothed crank pulley keeps the camshafts and pistons in perfect sync via the timing belt ⏱️. It transfers exact rotation from the crank to the belt, holding factory timing marks. Without a true-running pulley, your engine can drift out of time, lose power, idle rough, and waste fuel.
How it works
A keyed, splined hub slides onto the crank nose and locks with the woodruff key. Hardened teeth mesh with the belt, guiding it straight while resisting stretch, heat, and oil mist. The pulley sits behind the crank damper and aligns with the tensioner and idlers for stable belt tracking and quiet operation.
What if it’s worn or broken
Slipped teeth, a cracked hub, or a sheared key can jump timing. Results: hard start, misfire, backfire, or no-start. On interference engines, valves may bend—costly repair ❗ You may also hear metallic rattle, see frayed belt edges, or find oil-soaked teeth causing belt slip and poor economy.
Build and fit
OE-grade steel, precise tooth pitch, rust protection, and tight bore tolerance ensure accurate timing and long belt life. Designed for select Toyota models for a direct swap with stable belt alignment.
Install tips
Align timing marks, clean the crank snout, inspect the key and front main seal, torque the bolt to spec, and replace the belt and tensioner together. Never pry on the teeth. Recheck timing by hand two crank turns before start-up .
