Why you need it
This small steel gear is the heart of your engineβs timing. It locks to the crank nose and drives the timing belt, keeping camshafts and water pump in perfect sync. A fresh pulley restores accurate belt tracking, reduces vibration, and protects seals and tensioners. Itβs a must whenever the belt system shows wear or during a major timing service .
How it works
The keyed hub fixes to the crankshaft. The toothed profile meshes with the belt so every crank rotation is transmitted to the cams with exact tooth-to-tooth accuracy. Correct indexing maintains ignition and valve events, smooth idle, strong pull, and efficient fuel use. Hardened teeth resist wear, while precise machining holds alignment under load.
