Front Crankshaft Oil Seal for Nissan Engines

This precision seal keeps engine oil inside the timing cover and away from the pulley area. It locks out dust, holds pressure, and prevents messy leaks. Built from heat‑resistant elastomer with a steel core, it’s an OE‑grade solution for long service life and quiet, clean running.

Why this part is needed ️

The crankshaft spins at high speed; without a tight seal, oil escapes, belts get soaked, and bearings starve. A fresh seal protects the timing system, alternator, and crank pulley, maintaining oil level and engine health.

How it works ️

A spring‑loaded lip hugs the crank snout, forming a micro oil film for lubrication. The outer shell press‑fits into the cover, while a dust lip blocks debris. Proper fit, correct depth, and light oil on the lip ensure instant sealing on first start.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Signs include oil drip behind the pulley, burnt‑oil smell, wet belts, squeal, and low oil level. Ignoring it can cause belt slip, sensor contamination, misfires, and accelerated main bearing wear.

Tech tips βœ…

  • Inspect crank surface; polish minor grooves, replace if deeply scored.
  • Clean bore, press in square; never hammer the lip.
  • Lubricate the seal lip; verify PCV/venting to avoid pressure blow‑out.
