High‑seal Cam/Rocker Cover Gasket for Nissan V8 engines
This sealing gasket closes the joint between the cylinder head and the upper cover. It keeps engine oil inside, blocks dust and moisture, and protects the spark plug wells. If you want a dry, clean engine bay and stable lubrication, this part is essential ️.
Why this part is needed
Without a proper seal, hot oil seeps out, drips on the exhaust manifold, and burns, creating smell and smoke. Oil loss speeds wear, dirt enters the head area, and coil boots may get soaked, causing misfire.
How it works
The molded rubber/silicone ring sits in the cover groove. When the cover is torqued to spec, it compresses evenly and forms an elastic barrier against heat, pressure, and vibration. It also seals timing cover joints with small RTV dabs at corners.
What happens if it fails ⚠️
- Oil leaks around the cover and plug tubes
- Burning oil smell, smoke on warm-up
- Misfire, rough idle, contamination of coils
- Low oil level, faster sludge build-up
Tech notes ️
- Clean mating surfaces; do not scratch aluminum
- Install new grommets and tube seals if equipped
- Apply RTV only at half-moon corners
- Tighten bolts in sequence to factory torque
Compatibility
- Qx56
