OE‑grade Connecting Rod Bearing Set ⚙️

Why this part is essential ️

This engine bearing supports the big end of the connecting rod where it rides on the crankshaft journal. It holds a precise oil film, cuts friction, stabilizes oil pressure, and keeps the rotating assembly aligned. Using a fresh, correctly sized bearing restores quiet operation, smooth power, and long engine life.

How it works

Two half‑shells clamp into the rod and cap with a controlled “crush” fit. A tri‑metal/bi‑metal surface forms a hydrodynamic oil wedge that carries combustion loads without metal‑to‑metal contact. Oil grooves and chamfers feed and retain lubricant while protecting the crankshaft surface at high RPM and temperature.

If worn or damaged ⚠️

  • Cold start knock or steady rod knock
  • Low oil pressure, metallic glitter in oil
  • Overheated journals, spun bearing, seized rod
  • Severe cases: broken rod and engine block damage

Tech notes

Measure journals, choose correct grade/thickness, verify clearance with Plastigage, torque bolts to spec, and use assembly lube. Always keep parts surgically clean and change oil after break‑in.
