Engine Torque Strut Mount for Precise Powertrain Control
Why this part is needed
This mount (often called the engine moving rod) keeps the engine from twisting under acceleration or braking. It stabilizes the drivetrain, cuts vibration, and protects other mounts, CV joints, and the exhaust flex pipe. With a healthy torque rod, your ride feels smooth and tight, and parts around the engine last longer.
How it works
A strong steel link with bonded rubber bushings ties the engine bracket to the subframe. As the engine creates torque, the rod absorbs and controls that motion, limiting roll and fore-aft movement. The rubber isolates noise and harshness while the arm provides firm directional control.
What happens if broken
Expect harsh vibration at idle, clunks on start/stop, and a jolt when shifting between R and D. The engine may rock, stressing hoses and wiring. Other mounts tear early, axles wear faster, and exhaust components can crack. Ignoring it increases repair costs and degrades driving comfort .
Build & service notes
OE-style geometry and high-durometer rubber for durability and comfort. Install with the vehicle at ride height; torque bolts only after settling the engine. Replace in pairs when needed and inspect brackets for damage.
