Engine Crankcase Oil Separator for V8 Trucks & SUVs
Why this part is needed
This unit keeps blow‑by gases clean by removing oil mist before they return to the intake. It protects the throttle body, intake runners, and catalytic converters, reduces oil consumption, and keeps emissions correct. A healthy separator means smoother idle, cleaner combustion, and longer engine life.
How it works
Blow‑by flows from the crankcase through the PCV path into the separator. Inside, precision baffles and cyclone channels spin and slow the vapor so oil droplets fall back to the case, while dry gas goes onward to be burned. The system maintains correct crankcase vacuum and stops oil from pooling in the intake.
What happens if broken
Clogging raises crankcase pressure, causing oil leaks at seals, blue smoke, rough idle, and increased fuel use. A cracked housing becomes a vacuum leak, leading to whistling, misfires, and check engine lights. Long term, it can foul plugs, damage converters, and contaminate the MAF.
