This bearing set sits between the connecting rod and the crankshaft journal, creating a low-friction surface that lets the rod swing freely at high RPM. The shells clamp inside the rod big-end and ride on a thin oil film. That pressurized oil layer carries the load, keeps metal parts separated, and controls clearance so the crank stays stable. Correct sizing helps maintain oil pressure and reduces vibration and heat.
When Bearings Fail ?
