Information

Automatic Serpentine Belt Tensioner for Nissan Trucks & SUVs

Keep your drive belt at the right tension so your alternator, water pump, power steering, and A/C work smoothly. This OE-grade automatic tensioner is built for tough duty, delivering quiet, stable belt tracking and long service life.

Why your engine needs it

The serpentine belt stretches with heat and age. A self-adjusting tensioner maintains constant load, prevents slip and squeal, protects pulleys, and keeps charging and cooling systems steady even under vibration and heavy accessories.

How it works ⚙️

A pre-loaded spring pushes an alloy arm against a sealed bearing pulley. A built-in damper absorbs belt flutter, so the pulley micro-adjusts as RPM and accessory loads change. Precision alignment keeps belt ribs centered and reduces wear.

What happens if it fails

Weak or seized units cause chirps at start-up, glazed belts, dim lights, heavy steering, hot running, or weak A/C. If the arm binds, the belt can jump or shred, risking loss of alternator and water pump drive—overheating and roadside breakdown.

Installation notes

Direct bolt-on. Use a breaker bar to relieve tension, route the belt correctly, and torque fasteners to spec. Spin the pulley; any roughness or play means replacement. Replace a cracked or oil-soaked belt at the same time for best results.
