Information
Crankshaft Main Bearing Set for Toyota Engines ⚙️
This precision bearing supports the crankshaft inside the engine block, keeping rotation smooth and perfectly aligned under heavy load. It is needed whenever you rebuild an engine, fix low oil pressure issues, or hear deep knocking from the bottom end. A healthy bearing forms a thin oil film that prevents metal-to-metal contact, reducing friction and heat while stabilizing crankshaft movement.
How It Works ✅
The bearing shell sits in the block saddle and clamps in place with the main cap. Pressurized oil flows through galleries to create a protective layer. This oil wedge lets the crankshaft “float” while spinning, protecting the journals and keeping clearances correct for steady oil pressure.
If It’s Worn or Broken
A damaged bearing can cause low oil pressure, rumbling/knock sounds, hot spots, and rapid crank journal scoring. Ignoring it may lead to seized crankshaft, thrown rod, or total engine failure—often turning a simple repair into a full replacement.
