Premium Crankshaft Main Bearing Set for Toyota Engines

Why this part is needed

These bearings keep the crankshaft centered in the block, control oil clearance, and cut friction so the engine runs smooth and quiet. They carry combustion loads 24/7, protect the crank journals, and stabilize oil pressure. Without healthy mains, power, efficiency, and reliability all drop.

How it works ⚙️

Each half-shell sits in the block and cap, forming a precise round bore. Pressurized oil builds a hydrodynamic film between the journal and bearing, so metal never touches metal. Multi-layer construction (steel back, copper/lead or aluminum alloy, soft overlay) spreads load and resists wear. Correct clearance ensures instant oil wedge and steady pressure.

What happens if it fails

Wear or scoring causes low oil pressure, cold-start knock, and glitter in the oil. Prolonged use can spin a bearing, wipe a journal, and seize the engine—often ruining the crank and block. Replace at overhaul, after oil starvation, or when specs are out of tolerance. Always pair with clean oil, proper torque, and correct size (STD or undersize for ground journals).
