Timing Gear Case Housing β OE Front Engine Cover
Why this part is needed
This housing seals and supports the gear-driven timing set at the front of the engine. It keeps oil inside, aligns the cam, idler, and crank gears, and carries the front crankshaft seal. A solid, true cover prevents gear misalignment, oil leaks, and noisy operation.
How it works
The cover forms a rigid wall that holds timing gear centers in exact position. Internal oil passages feed the gear train while the gasket and crank seal maintain pressure. By blocking dust and moisture, the front cover protects precision surfaces and keeps the timing stable β±οΈ.
What happens if itβs broken β οΈ
Cracks or warped faces cause oil leaks near the crank pulley, whining or grinding from the front, timing drift, hard starting, and metallic debris in the oil. Continued use can chew gear teeth, overheat bearings, and lead to severe engine damage.

OE-spec die-cast alloy with machined gasket lands. Always install a new gasket and front seal, clean dowel seats, apply sealant at case joints, and torque bolts in sequence for a flat, leak-free fit.
