Crankshaft Main Bearing – OEM-grade support for smooth engines ️

Why this part is needed

This bearing keeps the crankshaft perfectly centered in the engine block. It carries heavy combustion loads and maintains a stable oil film, reducing friction and wear. Healthy main bearings protect oil pressure, quiet operation, and long engine life—vital for hardworking Toyota SUVs and trucks.

How it works ⚙️

Two precision half-shells sit in the block saddle and cap. A tri-metal lining rides on a pressurized oil film, never metal-on-metal. Oil grooves and feed holes deliver steady lubrication, while exact clearance controls temperature and load. The result: smooth rotation, even under towing or off-road stress.

What happens if it’s damaged ❗

Expect low oil pressure, dull knock at idle, metal glitter in oil, rising temps, and bearing material showing copper. Continued use risks spun bearings, scored journals, and a seized engine—often requiring a full rebuild.

Tech install notes

Measure clearance with Plastigage, verify journal roundness, clean surfaces, align oil holes, lube during assembly, and torque caps in sequence. Check thrust bearing endplay. Prime the oiling system and use correct viscosity oil on first start.
