Why Is This Part Needed

This important engine component creates a sealed connection between your thermostat and the rest of the cooling system. Its main job is to safely hold the temperature control valve (thermostat) and route coolant to manage your engine’s operating temperature. If the housing is unreliable, engine temperatures can become unpredictable, risking overheating or poor performance.

How Does It Work

The housing is mounted directly onto the engine block. When your engine heats up, the thermostat inside the housing opens, allowing coolant to flow and lower temperature. When the engine is cold, the housing helps close the circuit, directing coolant only through the engine for faster warm-up. Seals on the housing prevent leaks and maintain system pressure.
