Crankshaft Thrust Bearing Set
This axial thrust washer kit controls crankshaft endplay and protects the engine under clutch or torque converter loads. Precision, OE-style faces with oil grooves keep the crank centered, reduce friction, and guard the block and main webs from wear. Ideal for fresh builds or restoring factory clearances on high-mileage engines.
Why you need it βοΈ
Proper endplay means smooth shifts, stable idle, accurate timing, and healthy oil pressure. Without it, the crank can βwalk,β scuffing the block, chewing seals, and throwing the rotating assembly out of alignment. This set restores axial control and extends engine life.
How it works
Two thrust faces seat at the main journalβs thrust saddle. Fed by engine oil, they absorb foreβaft forces from the transmission, clutch release, torque pulses, and accessory loads, maintaining the specified endplay under all temperatures and RPM.
When it fails
- Harsh clutch engagement or stalling when pressing the pedal
- Visible crank pulley inβout movement
- Idle knock; copper/bronze glitter in oil
- Rear main seal leaks, low oil pressure
- Damaged crank thrust face or block saddle
