Front Disc Brake Caliper Cylinder Repair Kit β€” OE ref 04479-60040

Keep your stopping power sharp and safe . This repair kit restores the sealing and sliding of the front brake caliper pistons on heavy-duty Toyota SUVs. Fresh seals and dust boots hold pressure, keep out dirt, and make the pistons move smoothly, so pads clamp the disc evenly every time.

Why you need it

Over time heat, water, and road grit harden the rubber seals. Pistons start to stick or leak. Rebuilding with new components brings back factory braking feel, saves the caliper body, and protects new pads and rotors.

How it works

The square-cut pressure seal sits in the caliper bore and seals brake fluid pressure. When you press the pedal, fluid pushes the piston forward to squeeze the pads. When you release, seal elasticity retracts the piston slightly. The outer dust boot blocks moisture and dust ️.

What happens if it fails

  • Soft or sinking pedal, longer stopping distance
  • Pulling to one side, uneven pad wear
  • Brake fluid seepage, corrosion on piston
  • Overheating, warped rotor, humming or burning smell

What’s inside

  • Piston pressure seals and dust boots
  • Retaining rings/caps, slide pin boots (where applicable)
  • Assembly grease for rubber-compatible use

Install notes

Clean bores, inspect pistons; replace pitted parts. Lube lightly with supplied grease. Seat seals without twisting. Bleed the system with fresh DOT 3/4 fluid. Torque guide pins to spec and bed-in pads βœ….
