How it works ⚙️

The ECU reads wheel‑speed, steering angle, throttle, and brake inputs via CAN. It tracks transfer‑case position, then commands the shift motor and axle disconnect actuators. By timing solenoids and motor steps, it synchronizes shafts to prevent binding and cooperates with ABS/VSC to reduce wheel slip. Logic adapts to speed and load for seamless engagement.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Expect flashing 4WD lamps, ABS/VSC disabled, DTCs (C12xx/C13xx),no 4LO, stuck in 2WD, harsh shifts, or clicking from the transfer case. Traction suffers, stopping distance grows, and drivetrain wear increases; some vehicles may enter limp mode. Replace if the board is water‑damaged, relays burn, or communication drops.
