HVAC Air-Mix Damper Servo (OE 87106-30500)

This actuator controls the blend door inside the climate box, guiding air through or around the heater core (radiator) to reach the temperature you set. It’s essential for steady cabin comfort, fast defogging, and quiet, accurate airflow in premium Toyota cabins. ❄️🔥

How it works

A compact 12V motor drives reduction gears and a keyed shaft linked to the air-mix flap. An internal position sensor (potentiometer) reports door angle to the A/C amplifier. The ECU then fine-tunes the door based on temp, sunload, and cabin sensors, delivering smooth hot-cold transitions and balanced zones. Also known as an air mix door actuator. ⚙️

If it’s faulty

Expect stuck temperature, random heat/cold bursts, slow response, clicking from the dash, weak defog, or uneven sides. Ignoring it can overwork the HVAC, raise fuel use, and cause discomfort on long trips. In extreme cases, windows fog and visibility drops. ⚠️
