How it works

The ECU pulses the primary winding; when the field collapses, the secondary winding generates 20–40 kV and fires the spark plug. The plug-top design sits directly on the plug, cutting energy loss. What happens if it fails

Misfire (often at idle or uphill),check engine light (codes P0300–P0304),hard starting, weak power, poor MPG, fuel smell, and possible catalytic converter damage. Persistent misfire can overheat the cat and damage the plug.
