The ignition coil assembly is a critical component in your vehicle's ignition system, responsible for transforming the battery's low voltage to the thousands of volts needed to create a spark in the spark plugs. This spark is essential for igniting the air-fuel mixture in the engine cylinders, initiating the combustion process that powers your vehicle.

Why You Need It

How It Works

This component acts as a transformer. It receives 12 volts from the car's battery and converts it to a much higher voltage - in the range of 20,000 to 40,000 volts - needed to ignite the air-fuel mixture. The process involves winding of copper wire within the coil, which creates a magnetic field when current flows through it. When the current is interrupted, the magnetic field collapses, inducing high voltage in the coil's secondary winding.
