This rugged rubber isolator keeps the G‑Class powertrain firmly located while filtering harsh vibration. It’s engineered for tough off‑road use and highway comfort, giving your frame, crossmember, engine/gearbox or transfer case the elastic support they need. Ideal when restoring classic W460/W461 or upgrading W463 performance models.

Why you need it

Rubber mounts prevent metal‑to‑metal contact, reduce NVH (noise, vibration, harshness),and protect shafts, exhaust, and wiring from stress. A fresh mount restores smooth idle, tight shifting, and precise driveline alignment.

How it works

A steel core and bonded elastomer absorb torsional pulses and road shocks. Under load, the compound flexes in multiple axes, isolating the frame while keeping the drivetrain centered and at the correct height.

When it’s worn or broken

Expect clunks on take‑off, buzzing at certain RPM, misaligned shafts, cracked hoses, and accelerated wear of adjacent mounts. Severe failure can cause shifter misfeel, exhaust contact, or even driveshaft vibration at speed.
