The thermostat regulates temperature, while the mechanical pump keeps coolant moving through block, head, and radiator. Why you need it 🌡️

Correct temperature means efficient combustion, steady idle, strong cabin heat, and long engine life. Replacing a tired thermostat/pump restores warm-up time, fuel economy, and reliability in traffic or summer heat.

How it works

A wax-element thermostat stays closed when cold to speed warm-up, then opens near 90°C to route coolant through the radiator. The belt-driven impeller maintains continuous flow, stabilizing temperature under load and at idle.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Stuck open: overcooling, high fuel use, weak heater, rich codes. Stuck closed or weak pump: overheating, warning light, boiling coolant, hose collapse, possible head-gasket damage. Leaks or noisy bearings mean immediate replacement.

Fitment notes ✅

Use MB-approved coolant (silicate-free),new O-ring, clean mating surfaces, and bleed air. Replace aged belts/hoses together for best results.
