How it works

A heated zirconia wideband element with a pump cell measures oxygen in the exhaust. The ECU drives the pump current to hold stoichiometry and trims injectors based on this signal. The heater brings the sensor to temperature quickly for reliable feedback.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Rich or lean running, rough idle, flat spots, hard starts, poor fuel economy, sulfur smell, overheating catalyst, and MIL on (common mixture codes). Emissions will rise and power can drop.

Install notes

Mount pre‑catalyst, route wiring away from heat, tighten to spec, do not contaminate the tip, clear codes, and perform an ECU relearn. Works with factory harness for a clean fit .
