Engine Coolant Expansion Reservoir 🧊

This tank is a vital part of the cooling system. It stores extra antifreeze as temperature rises, stabilizes system pressure, and returns fluid when the engine cools. It also lets you check level at a glance and helps purge air so the water pump moves only liquid. Built for tough, long-mile service.

Why you need it πŸ”§

Without a working reservoir, expanding coolant would spill, the radiator would run low, and the engine could overheat. A correct reserve volume protects the head gasket, radiator, hoses, thermostat, heater core, and keeps cooling performance consistent on climbs, towing, and highway runs.

How it works πŸš—

As coolant heats, it expands and flows through the overflow hose into the tank. A pressure/vent cap and internal chambers manage pressure and vapors. When the engine cools, vacuum draws fluid back to the radiator. The translucent body with MIN/MAX marks shows the correct level; molded ports accept the factory hoses and level sensor if equipped.

If it’s cracked or failing ⚠️

Watch for damp seams, white crust, sweet smell, low level warnings, unstable temperature gauge, weak cabin heat, steam, or sudden overheating. Driving like this risks warped head or blown gasket. Replace at first signs and bleed air after install for best results.

Fit and materials βœ…

OE-style geometry for a clean drop-in fit. Reinforced, heat-resistant plastic resists vibration and UV. Swap with basic tools; reuse a healthy cap or install a new cap for proper sealing.
