The Hino Motors Company is the major Japanese manufacturer of diesel engine trucks and buses of small, medium and large classes. Starting with the 1960s, the company is owned by Toyota Corporation.

Hino Motors was founded in 1942. In those times the company (then called Hino Heavy Industry Co., Ltd) has been separated from Diesel Motor Industry Co., a subsidiary of Tokyo Electric Power. After the war, the brand stopped releasing heavy equipment, leaving only the line for the production of diesel engines, trucks and buses. In 1961 production of cars under license from Renault started. Since 2003, the company launched production of hydrogen fuel cells powered trucks and buses. Today technology Hino Motors is widely represented in Asia and Europe.
