How it works

The hub’s flange carries the studs and bolts to the knuckle. Inside, precision balls roll on hardened races with lifetime grease. The axle spline locks into the center, and when torqued correctly, the assembly spins true with minimal friction.

When it fails ⚠️

Expect noise, steering shake, ABS light, uneven pad wear, heat at the hub, and longer stopping distance. Left ignored, it can damage the knuckle, rotor, and CV joint—and in extreme cases, seize.

Tech install tips

• Clean the knuckle bore; remove rust for a flush seat.
