How it works ?

When you press the pedal, the release bearing lifts the spring fingers, the plate opens, and the disc freewheels for clean gear changes. Release the pedal, the spring clamps the disc again, transferring power without chatter.

What happens if it’s bad ⚠️

Weak or warped cover causes slip, shudder, or a hard pedal. You may smell burning, see RPM flare, or struggle on hills. Continued use can blue the flywheel, glaze the disc, and finally lose drive. Replace as a set with disc and release bearing; clean surfaces and torque bolts in a star pattern. Allow light break-in.
