The idle air control valve (IACV) is a critical component in your engine management system, regulating the engine's idle speed. Its main function is to manage the air flow around the closed throttle to ensure the engine runs smoothly when the vehicle is at a standstill. This ensures that the engine doesn't stall and maintains efficiency under various conditions, such as when the AC is on or the steering wheel is turned.

How It Works ?️

The IACV uses feedback from the engine control unit (ECU) to adjust the amount of air bypassing the throttle plate. When the engine is idling, the valve opens to allow more air to enter, keeping the engine running smoothly. The ECU constantly monitors the engine's needs and adjusts the valve's position accordingly, providing optimal performance and fuel efficiency.
