Operation of the Air Flow Meter

The flow meter typically uses a hot wire system, which maintains the wire at a constant temperature. As air flows over the wire, it cools down, and the meter adjusts the current to keep the wire hot. This change in current is directly related to the air flow rate, which is then sent to the engine control unit (ECU).

Consequences of a Faulty Air Flow Meter
