This heavy-duty timing chain keeps your Toyota engine in perfect sync. It links the crankshaft to the camshafts so valves open and close exactly when needed. Built from hardened steel with precision-ground pins, it’s made for quiet operation and long life under proper oil service.

Why you need it 🧩

Accurate timing preserves power, fuel economy, and smooth idle. A healthy chain also stabilizes VVT performance, clean starts, and emission control. If your original chain is stretched or noisy, renewing it restores factory timing and reliability.

How it works ⚙️

The chain rides on the crank and cam sprockets, guided by wear-resistant rails. A hydraulic tensioner, fed by engine oil, keeps the correct preload to prevent slack. This maintains precise cam phase angles through the full RPM range and temperature changes.

If worn or broken ❗

Expect cold-start rattle, check-engine light, timing codes, poor idle, higher fuel use, and loss of power. A skipped tooth can cause misfire or no-start; in interference engines it may bend valves and damage pistons. Metal shavings in oil are a red flag—replace immediately.

Pro install notes 🛠️

Replace guides and tensioner together, inspect sprockets, align timing marks, prime the tensioner with clean oil, torque to spec, reseal the front cover, and finish with fresh oil and filter.
