Steering Gear Gasket & Seal Set

This OE-grade set renews every critical seal in the recirculating-ball steering gearbox, stopping fluid leaks, restoring hydraulic pressure, and protecting internal gears and bearings. It’s the right fix for a tough 4x4 that sees heavy loads, big tires, and heat.

Why you need it ❗

Age, heat, and ATF/PSF shear make rubber hard and brittle. You’ll notice red fluid spots, assist that fades when hot, a heavier wheel, pump whine, and vague center feel. A proper reseal stops the mess and brings back smooth, confident steering—on-road and off-road.

How it works ⚙️

The set includes sector shaft and input shaft oil seals, valve body O-rings, cover gaskets, and dust rings. These keep fluid in and dirt out, sealing the torsion/spool valve so pump flow goes to the correct side of the piston. Result: consistent assist and tight tracking.

When seals fail

Leaks grow, fluid aerates, assist drops, and the pump overheats. Contamination can score the worm and sector, leading to wander and costly box and pump replacement. In severe cases, fluid on hot surfaces can smoke and create a hazard.
